Tips for Posting Jobs

Mondays and Tuesdays are busy days at TorontoJobClassifieds.com--on average,  these two days we receive the most visitors to our site each week.  If you are in a rush to fill your position, try to get your ads in by Thursday or Friday latest to make sure they are posted before these busy days.

Contact Information:

We are doing our best to ensure that TorontoJobClassifieds.com  provides a valuable service to job seekers, employers and recruiters.

In order to do this we must attempt to authenticate each job posting.  One of the ways we do this is to ask for Contact Information.  This information is never published (or shared with 3rd parties).  If our editors determine that the contact information is false or suspicious, your job may not be posted.

We have also added a job posting code in the beige box.  This is to help us weed out some of the spam we receive.

You might be interested to know that about 75% of forms we receive cannot be published due to spam content or suspicious job postings.

Job Posting Information:

The second section is the actual job posting information that will appear in your advertisement.  For greatest effectiveness, try to fill out this area as completely as possible.  Give lots of details in the description to help job seekers 'pre-screen' themselves for your opportunity (so you won't have to!)

The work location section of the job posting form gives both general areas and some very specific neighbourhoods.  Be specific!  People like to know where the job actually is.  Feel free to submit a suggestion if there is a neighbourhood you would like to see added to this section.

Double check all of the information you submit, this is exactly how it will appear in your advertisement.  Some effort is made to correct spelling errors, but please remember that this is a free service and time demands make it impossible to correct every spelling error.

Additional Features:

Because ads on TorontoJobClassifieds.com are free we do get a lot of them!

You can really make your ad stand out by selecting optional embellishments or added features like coloured background, scrolling marquis, flashing job title or adding your logo image.

Successful E-Bay sellers will tell you, adding an image to your ad increases sales.  Adding your logo to your ad draws attention and lends a professional quality to your ad, as well as building your brand awareness in the Greater Toronto marketplace.  Your ad will stay on our site for a minimum of 30 days.  Having a splash of colour or animation in your ad will help get it noticed as it moves down the list.

There is a very small fee for the extra effort required to post ads with this added features:

$5 per job classification page your ad appears on for one feature or $10 per page for as many features as you would like.  Still much less expensive than most plain text employment ads.

When choosing added features, make sure to click on the "I AGREE to pay for all selected additional features"  this is your contract and if you do not select this option the features will not be added.

If you do select added features you will receive an invoice via PayPal once your ad is posted. It will remain on our site for at least 30 days.

We have chosen to go to an invoicing system over a shopping cart system to give businesses the opportunity to pay by cheque.  We are currently evaluating the efficacy of this policy, and may need to withdraw this option in the future.

When you are satisfied with your posting  click on the Submit button on the bottom left-hand corner of the form.  If your form is missing information that is required, you will be prompted to go back and fill in that information.  You will not need to fill in the whole form again.  When the form is accepted you will go to a plain white confirmation page that lists the information we received from you.  To go back to our site, click the 'back' arrow in your browser.  Do not hit submit again, this just clogs up our system.

If you have a 2nd job to post, click the Reset button beside the Submit button and your form will be cleared.

If you have more questions, concerns or suggestions, we'd like to hear from your.  Email us at editor@torontojobclassifieds.com
